Part I : Short Essay

Answer Two questions only from this part. Question One is compulsory


Question One

Explain the following :
i. Definition of knowledge according to Naquib al-Attas and al-Ghazali ?
ii. The concept of Haqq al-Yaqin and its divisions (types) in the Quran ?
iii. How to differenciate between hadith “Sahih Lizatihi” and “Sahih lighairihi” ?

( 14 marks)

Question Two

i. Briefly explain the science of religious knowledge in the classification of knowledge according to al-Ghazali ?
ii. How far the category of the intellect is being regarded as blameworthy ?
iii. Give two other names/terms of the “science of hadith” ( “Ulum Hadith” ) ?
(12 marks)



Question Three

i. Define al-Hadith ?
ii. What is the difference between “Hadith Mursal” and “Hadith mauquf” ?
iii. Why fabricated hadith is considered as hadith in which actually not hadith?
iv. Give the proof from al-Quran or al-Hadith shows that Islam covers all aspects and systems of life ?

Part II : Long Essay

According to Harun Yahya in “Living by the Quran”, he concluded that al-Quran explains how to be a servant of Allah s.w.t by following His commandments in order to achieve happiness in worldly life and hereafter. Discuss that statement according to Quranic point of view ?
